DNS - Domain Name System

Domain Name System (or Service or Server). DNS is the Internet technology that ties Internet domain names into corresponding IP addresses. DNS database is distributed and replicated among many DNS servers, so when you change your domain's IP address, the changes take a while to propagate, upto 72 hours for a domain name change to propogate.
